To promote traditional Chinese culture and carry out patriotic education, on the morning of April 4th, over 200 people, including leaders and employees of Xuchang Yuanhua Group Co., Ltd., Xuchang Huatuo Culture Research Association, Xuchang Huatuo Traditional Chinese Medicine Research Institute, and Xuchang Yuanhua Biotechnology Co., Ltd., as well as representatives from the Xuchang Municipal Federation of Social Sciences, the National Xuchang Economic and Technological Development Zone Management Committee, the National Xuchang Economic and Technological Development Zone Civilization Office, the Luozhuang Moral Lecture Hall of the Development Zone, and 18 traditional culture education institutions from provinces and cities across China, came to the birthplace of the Xu Chang people, the ancestor of the Chinese people—the Lingjing site in Xuchang, for the Qingming Festival ancestral worship ceremony. This is the first time in the country to pay homage to the Xu Chang people, the ancestor of the Chinese people.

The Lingjing "Xu Chang people" site is located in Jian'an District, Xuchang City, Henan Province. Discovered in 1965, the site has unearthed more than 30,000 animal fossils and stone tools of various types, as well as hundreds of bone tools. At the end of 2007, "Xu Chang people" skull fossils were discovered at the site, filling the gap in the 10-12.5-year-old modern human fossils in the East Asian human evolution process. It has significant academic value for the study of the origin and evolution of modern humans in East Asia and China, and was ranked first among the "Top Ten New Archaeological Discoveries in China in 2007." In June 2008, the Lingjing "Xu Chang people" site was announced as a provincial-level cultural relic protection unit by the Henan Provincial People's Government, and in May 2013, it was designated as the seventh batch of national key cultural relic protection units by the State Council.

Upon arriving at the birthplace of the "Xu Chang people," the guests participating in the worship ceremony followed traditional Chinese etiquette, respectfully inviting the ancestors, offering incense, kowtowing, pouring libations, offering sacrificial dances, solemnly reciting the ancestral worship text, and collectively paying homage to the ancestors, performing a grand worship ceremony.
Chairman Zhang Jianguo announced the commencement of the worship ceremony. In his speech, he said that this grand ceremony to commemorate the ancestor of the Chinese people, the "Xu Chang people," is of great significance in promoting the traditional Chinese virtues of filial piety and love for family, inheriting the Chinese tradition of filial piety and respect for the elderly, advocating a harmonious and friendly social atmosphere, cultivating and practicing socialist core values, and promoting spiritual civilization construction.

At the worship ceremony, Principal Han Jinchang introduced the excavation process of the Lingjing "Xu Chang people." He said that the Lingjing Xu Chang people site is the first site in China excavated that centers around a spring, dating back to the middle and late Paleolithic periods. Human skull fossils were discovered twice, in 2007 and 2014. The discovery of the Lingjing "Xu Chang people" site is an important achievement in the field of Paleolithic archaeology in China in recent years. The discovery of the Lingjing Xu Chang people has always been a source of pride for the people of Xuchang. The Xu Chang people connect the Zhoukoudian Peking Man and the early modern humans in northern China, ending the hypothesis that modern humans in northern China originated in Africa. This discovery is of great significance for studying the evolutionary lineage of ancient humans in China.

After the worship ceremony, the guests participating in the ceremony visited the Xu Chang people site. The guests expressed that they had once again received the baptism of traditional culture, showing greater respect for the initial civilization of China, further enhancing their national pride and confidence.
