At nine o'clock in the morning of May 26, 2018, the "8th China Buddhist Medicine Summit Forum" was grandly opened at the Shaolin Temple's Changzhuyuan in Songshan Mountain, China. The theme of this Buddhist medicine forum is "Incense Cultivation and Human Health Culture", aiming to explore the role of incense cultivation in "Three Therapies and Seven Cultivations" in promoting the health and well-being of human beings physically, mentally, and spiritually. Zhang Jianguo, General Manager of Yuanhua Bio and President of the Hua Tuo Culture Research Association, was invited to attend this event.

At nine o'clock in the morning, Shaolin resident monks and guests lined up at the Shaolin Temple's precept platform. Master Yongfu, the abbot of Shaolin Temple, led the Shaolin Temple community in offering incense and praying for world peace, human happiness, national stability, and good harvests.

At the opening ceremony, Master Yanlin, on behalf of Abbot Shi Yongxin of Shaolin Temple, welcomed the leaders and guests. He said, "Chan medicine is an inseparable part of Buddhism. Over the long course of history, successive generations of eminent monks at Shaolin Temple, through thousands of years of practice and integrating the strengths of various schools, have formed a unique Chan martial arts and medicine culture. Eight hundred years ago, Zen Master Zhilong established the Shaolin Pharmacy to heal the world and benefit people. Historically, due to wars, the Shaolin Pharmacy was once stagnant. In recent years, Abbot Shi Yongxin of Shaolin Temple has vowed to promote Chan medicine culture. In 2004, the pharmacy was reinstated, preparing traditional Chan medicine prescriptions to benefit the world. In 2011, the Buddhist Medicine Summit Forum was established, calling on people of insight to pool their wisdom and contribute to human physical and mental health. This Buddhist medicine forum brings together experts and scholars to study incense cultivation, one of the "Three Therapies and Seven Cultivations," and its benefits to human beings physically, mentally, and spiritually. A series of future activities will also be held to promote traditional health culture for the benefit of humanity."
